BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE
FILM ACADEMY
As one of sixteen chosen for the BFI's Pilot Film Academy programme, I once again got to meet other young aspiring filmmakers.
October 2012, We'd applied as Filmmakers, predominantly Directors, Writers and Editors and as well as learning from industry professionals who came in to talk to us and answer any queries we had of the film industry, we also got to make our own shorts based on the predetermined genre, HORROR!!
As a writer on the course, I enjoyed the process of having a quick turn around from the inital first draft to the second and final shooting script. I also got the opportunity to pitch to Ian Long from Euroscript which was a whole new experience for me, and introduced me to the fundamentals of pitching.
I also got to portray 'Little Red', our film's protagonist, as a modern twist on the childhood classic, Little Red Riding Hood.
(Top, workshops at the BFI, and BAFTA Q&A. Below Left, Screening our film at Pinewood Studios)
